Bookkeeper & Office Administrator

Puget Bindery is a respected print finishing and bookbinding company located in Kent. We serve commercial printers and publishers throughout the Pacific Northwest with precision, pride, and professionalism. As our long-standing office manager and bookkeeper prepares to retire, we’re seeking a confident and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with Sage 100 experience to take over this critical role. If you are expert in another system we are willing to train.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position with primary responsibility for all bookkeeping, payroll, and financial functions. You’ll work with our leadership team and external CPA to keep everything accurate and running smoothly. For candidates interested in a broader role, there’s also an opportunity to take on general office administration — but finance comes first.
Bookkeeping & Financial Operations (Core Duties)
- Run weekly payroll for 28 full-time employees and seasonal temps using Sage 100
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable (approx. 100 invoices/month)
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly
- Maintain and update the general ledger in Sage 100
- Prepare monthly internal reports and support year-end close
- File sales tax and prepare 1099s
Optional Admin Support (Flexible Based on Interest)
- Order office supplies and coordinate vendor services
- Assist with onboarding and HR document management
- Help coordinate staff communication and schedules
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or payroll
- Experience using Sage 100 preferred, including ERP and payroll modules
- Extensive experience with other accounting systems is acceptable
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Trustworthy with confidential financial and employee information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Bonus: experience with light office management or HR support
