About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Cutter Operator to run guillotine cutters and ensure precision cutting of printed materials used in books, manuals, packaging, and promotional products. You’ll work as part of our bindery production team and will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency on every job.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain guillotine cutters (e.g., Itohtec, Polar, Challenge, or equivalent)
- Review job tickets, load printed stock, and ensure accurate trims per specifications
- Measure and inspect cuts with precision tools (calipers, rulers, templates)
- Handle pre-cut staging and post-cut organization for downstream operations
- Keep accurate records of materials used and completed jobs
- Perform daily maintenance and troubleshoot cutter equipment as needed
- Collaborate with production team and communicate issues proactively
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience operating industrial paper cutters in a print or bindery environment
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, layout dummies, and cut marks
- Familiarity with standard paper sizes, grain direction, and safety procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Bonus: Familiarity with bindery workflows and prepress concepts
